Roborock is bringing one of its most futuristic robot vacuum concepts to IFA 2026 in Berlin. Making its European debut is the Roborock Saros Rover, a robot vacuum first unveiled at CES that could fundamentally change how autonomous cleaners navigate the home.
What makes the Saros Rover stand out is its unusual wheel-leg architecture, which Roborock describes as the first of its kind for a robot vacuum. Rather than relying solely on traditional fixed wheels, the robot can independently raise and lower its legs, adjust its body position, and even perform small jumps to navigate slopes and obstacles.
Designed to Go Beyond a Single Floor
The biggest challenge the Saros Rover is designed to tackle is one that conventional robot vacuums still struggle with: stairs.

Roborock says the Rover combines advanced motion sensors with 3D spatial data to understand its surroundings and navigate more complex environments. Instead of stopping at a staircase, the robot is designed to move from one floor to another by navigating and cleaning individual steps along the way.
That could make the Saros Rover significantly more versatile than today’s typical robot vacuums, which are generally limited to cleaning one floor at a time and require users to manually move them between levels.
If Roborock can successfully bring this concept to market, the Saros Rover could represent a major shift in home robotics—from robots designed primarily to clean floors to machines capable of navigating multiple levels and more challenging areas of the home.
Roborock has not yet announced pricing or detailed availability for the Saros Rover. More information, including retailers and launch timing, is expected to be revealed closer to its commercial release.
