Dyson has unveiled the Dyson R1 Nurovi™ Dry robot vacuum cleaner as part of its Fall 2026 product lineup, bringing together Dyson’s cleaning technology, sensing capabilities and connected-home features in an automated robot vacuum designed for modern homes. Shop on Amazon!
At the heart of the R1 Nurovi™ is Dyson’s Twin-capture™ system, a dual-stage cleaning system that combines an engineered brush bar with a powerful 21,000 Pa suction motor. The system is designed to tackle both larger debris and fine dust across hard floors and carpets, while an intelligent sensing system automatically adjusts cleaning performance when additional suction is required.

Intelligent cleaning that responds to the environment
The R1 Nurovi™ uses a Piezo sensor to detect dust levels by counting and sizing particles in real time. When increased levels of dust are detected, the robot can automatically boost suction, helping optimize cleaning performance based on the conditions it encounters.
An ultrasonic sensor also identifies whether the robot is cleaning on hard flooring or carpet, allowing the system to adapt suction according to floor type.
Together with its automated navigation capabilities, Dyson says the R1 Nurovi™ is designed to identify floor types, optimize suction, navigate around obstacles and adapt to different areas of the home without requiring constant intervention.
Designed to tackle pet hair
For households with pets, the R1 Nurovi™ features a Dyson-engineered anti-tangle brush bar. Its chevron silicone design is intended to collect and de-tangle hair, including pet hair, helping address one of the common challenges associated with automated floor cleaning.
The robot can also be customized for pet-friendly cleaning through the MyDyson™ app, where users can establish no-go zones and set do-not-disturb times to help prevent pets from being disturbed during cleaning sessions.
Precise navigation and cleaning around the home
The R1 Nurovi™ uses high-speed LiDAR to scan and map rooms, helping the robot navigate efficiently while identifying and avoiding obstacles.

Its navigation system is also designed to handle raised areas between rooms. The robot can climb over thresholds and other raised surfaces of up to 0.79 inches, helping it move between different areas of a home without requiring manual repositioning.
At just 3.78 inches tall, the robot is designed to reach underneath furniture. An extending side sweeper adds further coverage, extending 1.06 inches to reach into edges, corners and other hard-to-reach areas.
Automated cleaning with up to 90 days of debris storage
The R1 Nurovi™ is paired with a hygienic cyclonic dock that automatically empties the robot and recharges it after cleaning.
Once debris is transferred from the robot, it is separated and stored in the dock’s larger bin. Dyson says the system can store dry debris for up to 90 days, providing up to three months of hands-free cleaning before the dock requires attention.²
This automated dock is designed to reduce the amount of routine maintenance required from users, allowing the robot to clean, return to its dock, empty its collected debris and recharge automatically.

Cleaning control through the MyDyson™ app
The R1 Nurovi™ also connects with the MyDyson™ app, giving users additional control over how and when the robot cleans.
Through the app, users can track cleaning trends, edit maps, customize cleaning routines and create no-go zones. These connected features allow cleaning schedules and coverage to be tailored to individual homes and routines.
A smarter approach to automated floor cleaning
With its combination of 21,000 Pa suction, Twin-capture™ dual-stage cleaning, anti-tangle technology, intelligent dust sensing, LiDAR mapping, floor detection and automated debris storage, the Dyson R1 Nurovi™ represents Dyson’s latest approach to hands-free robot floor cleaning.
The system is designed to handle different floor types, navigate rooms and raised thresholds, clean around furniture and edges, and automatically manage collected debris—while giving users the ability to customize cleaning through the MyDyson™ app.
