Combining Dyson-engineered cleaning technologies with intelligent navigation and an automated dock, the R2 Nurovi™ is designed to vacuum dust and debris, wash floors, tackle pet hair, navigate around obstacles and maintain itself between cleaning sessions.
At the heart of the robot is Dyson’s Twin-capture™ system, which combines a brush bar with a high-efficiency suction motor delivering up to 21,000 Pa of suction. The dual-stage cleaning system is designed to remove larger debris while capturing fine dust across different floor types.
Reuleaux Triangle Wash Pads Designed to Reach Into Corners
One of the R2 Nurovi™’s distinctive features is Dyson’s Reuleaux triangle wash pads, engineered to improve floor washing coverage in areas that can be difficult for conventional round mop pads to reach.
The curved-triangle shape is based on the Reuleaux triangle, formed from three arcs. Dyson says the design allows the wash pads to reach directly into corners, where dust and dirt can accumulate.
The robot combines the wash pads with an extending side sweeper that reaches 27mm outward to clean closer to edges and into corners.
For additional hygiene, the mop pads are automatically washed after each cleaning cycle using 75°C water heated at the dock. The system is designed to help prevent odours and reduce the risk of smearing during subsequent cleaning.
Powerful Vacuuming With Intelligent Suction Control
The R2 Nurovi™ is engineered for both everyday dust collection and larger debris removal. Its Twin-capture™ cleaning system pairs the brush bar with powerful suction to capture debris across multiple floor surfaces.
A Piezo sensor continuously detects dust levels and can automatically increase suction when additional cleaning power is required. An ultrasonic sensor also identifies whether the robot is travelling across hard flooring or carpet, allowing it to adapt its cleaning approach accordingly.
For homes with pets, Dyson has equipped the robot with an Anti-tangle brush bar, designed to collect and de-tangle pet hair while helping maintain cleaning performance.
LiDAR Navigation and Intelligent Obstacle Avoidance
The R2 Nurovi™ uses high-speed LiDAR to scan and map rooms, allowing the robot to create a detailed understanding of its surroundings and navigate through the home.
The mapping and navigation system is designed to help the robot avoid obstacles and clean efficiently while moving between rooms.
The robot can also climb over raised areas of up to 40mm, helping it move across thresholds and other transitions between rooms.
At just 96mm high, the R2 Nurovi™ can also detect and clean beneath furniture, expanding its reach into areas that can be difficult to access with conventional floor-cleaning equipment.
Up to 90 Days of Hands-Free Cleaning
The R2 Nurovi™ is designed to reduce the amount of routine maintenance required from users through its multifunctional dock.
After cleaning, the system can self-empty, self-clean, refill and recharge, with the dock capable of storing collected debris for up to 90 days of hands-free cleaning.
The dock also plays a key role in the wet-cleaning system by washing the Reuleaux triangle mop pads with heated water after cleaning.
Together, these automated functions are designed to let the robot handle much of the cleaning and maintenance process without requiring frequent manual intervention.
Personalised Cleaning Through the MyDyson™ App
The R2 Nurovi™ also connects with the MyDyson™ app, giving users additional control over how and when the robot cleans.
Through the app, users can track cleaning trends, edit maps, customise cleaning routines and establish no-go zones. Users can also configure cleaning behaviour around pets by setting designated no-go areas and do-not-disturb times.
The combination of mapping, sensors and app-based controls is designed to provide a more personalised approach to automated floor care.
