Unboxing and Setup

Opening the box, you’ll find the Yeedi M14 Plus vacuum, a red side brush, the Omnistation, a power cord, product literature, and a detailed quick start guide. Setting it up is straightforward: plug in the dock, attach the side brush, fill the clean water tank, and let the vacuum charge. Once connected to the Yeedi app, it’s ready to go within minutes.

First Impressions

Right away, the Yeedi M14 Plus impressed with its mopping performance. The roller mop design currently represents the best approach for tackling dirt and spills, and in our busy, pet-filled home, the vacuum handled hair, crumbs, and fine dust effortlessly. The detangling system, similar to what we’ve seen from Yeedi’s sister brand Ecovax, works well for keeping the side brush hair-free. However, longer strands still tended to tangle around the main roller. For households dealing with a lot of hair, a conical or split main roller would likely perform better.

The M14 Plus also has a unique design feature: while its LIDAR sensor sits in the center of the unit, the vacuum maintains a uniformly tall profile across the entire body. This means it can’t always fit under low-clearance furniture, like kitchen cabinet toe kicks, where older Yeedi models could squeeze through. Those previous models taper toward the edges, giving them better access to tight spaces.

Suction and Cleaning Performance

Where the M14 Plus really shines is in suction power. It boasts an impressive 18,000 Pascals—over twice the category average—and achieved 455 FPM in our carpet test, well above the typical 417 FPM. Airflow peaked at 10 CFM, compared to the average of 7.29 CFM. This level of power is not quiet, registering 82.6 dB at maximum, but for many users, it’s a reasonable trade-off given the performance.

That said, raw power doesn’t always translate into better cleaning results. In our deep carpet cleaning test, the M14 Plus scored 85 out of 100, slightly below average. In other words, despite its impressive hardware, it doesn’t always make the most of it on thick carpets.

Mopping and Omnistation Performance

The mopping capabilities, however, are a strong point. The M14 Plus features an average mop lift height, which is significant considering many competing models use thinner, disc-style mops. The Omnistation is compact yet effective, providing hot water mop washing and hot air drying in a smaller footprint than previous Yeedi bases. While the clean water tank maintains a standard capacity, the dirty water tank is smaller than average, which means more frequent emptying may be necessary.

App Features and Smart Controls

The Yeedi app, available on both iOS and Android, gives users full control over the M14 Plus. You can fine-tune vacuuming and mopping settings, create custom cleaning schedules, and target specific rooms or zones. The app supports multi-floor mapping, no-go zones, and voice control via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. It even integrates with the Matter smart home ecosystem. Additional features include AI-driven stain detection, the ability to expand map boundaries by up to 10 feet, manual control of the roller mop, and real-time maintenance tracking to help manage component upkeep.

User Feedback and Observations

Early user feedback has been largely positive, with an average rating of 4.5 stars. Users are praising the M14 Plus for its strong suction, efficient mapping, and easy setup and app navigation. Some have noted a learning curve with the app, occasional cleaning inconsistencies, and concerns about the higher price and longer, noisier cleaning cycles.

Despite its strengths, the M14 Plus is not without shortcomings. Obstacle avoidance can be inconsistent, performing well on hard floors but struggling on patterned or textured carpets. Hair tangling in the main brush is still an issue, and the side brush does not always reach deep into corners. Its uniform height limits access to low-clearance areas, and the Omnistation does not include a cleaning solution tank, which some competing EVAX models provide. Additionally, the lack of a true mop-only mode can allow moisture to enter the dust bin when tackling larger spills.

Conclusion

Overall, the Yeedi M14 Plus delivers impressive performance in the areas that matter most. Its mopping capabilities are standout, suction is strong, and the compact Omnistation makes it convenient for smaller spaces. The app offers robust customization, and early user feedback has been largely positive.

At the same time, design limitations—such as inconsistent obstacle avoidance, underwhelming carpet cleaning results, hair tangling, and the absence of a mop-only mode or cleaning solution tank—prevent it from being the absolute top of its class.

For those who prioritize powerful mopping and hands-free convenience at a more accessible price point, the Yeedi M14 Plus remains a strong, compelling option.
