iRobot Roomba® Max 875 Combo Brings Pro-Level Cleaning and Hands-Free Maintenance to the Home

The latest Roomba® combines powerful vacuuming, heated-water mopping, intelligent navigation and an advanced AutoWash™ Dock to deliver a deeper, more automated cleaning experience.

Keeping floors consistently clean can be a time-consuming chore, particularly in homes dealing with pets, long hair, everyday spills and a combination of carpets and hard flooring. The new Roomba® Max 875 Combo robot + AutoWash™ dock is designed to take more of that work off homeowners’ hands, combining powerful vacuuming and advanced mopping technologies with intelligent navigation and automated maintenance. Positioned as one of the brand’s most advanced robot vacuum and mop systems, the Roomba Max 875 Combo is engineered to go beyond routine dust and dirt pickup. It combines SealForce™ Technology, powerful suction and tornado-like airflow to concentrate vacuuming power and pull dirt, dust, crumbs and pet hair from deep within carpet fibers. According to iRobot, the system delivers 3x deeper carpet cleaning², while its combination of technologies provides 5x more suction⁴ for everyday household messes.

But the Roomba Max 875 Combo isn’t designed only for carpets. On hard floors, it introduces a heated approach to mopping that is intended to tackle the kinds of messes that can otherwise require hands-on scrubbing.

Heated Cleaning for Stubborn Floor Messes

The robot’s Ultrasonic ThermaMist™ technology uses a 140°F heated spray to help soften dried spills and stubborn messes before the floor is scrubbed. The system works alongside the PowerSpin™ Max Roller Mop, which uses 140°F hot water to provide deeper scrubbing performance.

The combination is designed to provide 2x better stain removal³, helping the robot tackle dried-on kitchen spills and other difficult marks in a single cleaning routine. Rather than simply passing a damp mop across the floor, the system is engineered to apply heat, pressure and mechanical scrubbing to loosen and remove stubborn dirt.

The PowerSpin™ Max Roller Mop is also designed to cover more ground with fewer passes. Operating at up to 300 RPM and applying 18N of downward pressure, the roller works with heated water to scrub hard floors while continuously cleaning itself. iRobot says the system delivers 3.75x deeper scrubbing¹, making it particularly suited to areas of the home that see frequent foot traffic and spills.

Reaching the Places Traditional Cleaning Can Miss

Floor cleaning is not just about what happens in the middle of a room. Dust and debris often accumulate along baseboards, walls and in corners, where conventional robot vacuums can struggle to reach.

The Roomba Max 875 Combo addresses this with PerfectEdge® Technology, which extends the roller up to 45mm along walls and baseboards. An outward-expanding Edge-Sweeping side brush also helps move dirt from corners and around furniture into the robot’s cleaning path.

The result is a system designed to provide more comprehensive floor coverage rather than leaving a noticeable strip of dust along the edges of a room.

Designed to Protect Carpets While Mopping

For homes with mixed flooring, one of the biggest challenges with robot mopping is keeping carpets dry. The Roomba Max 875 Combo tackles this with patented DriLift™ Technology, which uses AI-powered detection to identify carpets and automatically raise the mop while lowering a protective roller mop shield.

This allows the robot to transition between hard floors and carpet without requiring users to manually remove or attach a mop. The system is particularly useful in homes where carpets and hard flooring are spread throughout the same cleaning area.

Pet owners and households with long hair can also benefit from the robot’s approach to hair management. Its spiral anti-tangle Edge-Sweeping side brush helps guide hair toward the suction path, while a hair-cutting main brush is designed to reduce tangles caused by longer strands, helping the robot maintain uninterrupted cleaning performance.

An AutoWash™ Dock Designed to Take Care of the Robot

One of the biggest advantages of a robot vacuum is the ability to automate floor cleaning, but routine maintenance can still require hands-on attention. The AutoWash™ Dock is designed to address that part of the process as well.

After cleaning, the dock washes the PowerSpin™ Max Roller Mop with 176°F hot water and dries it using 131°F heated air. It also automatically empties the robot’s collected debris into a carbon AllergenLock™ debris bag, providing up to 90 days of hands-free maintenance.

The dock also takes care of the robot’s cleaning solution. When the next mopping session begins, it automatically mixes the appropriate dosage of StayClean™ Mopping Concentrate with clean water before refilling the robot.

By automating washing, drying, emptying and refilling, the AutoWash™ Dock is designed to make the overall cleaning system feel less like another appliance that needs regular attention and more like an autonomous part of the home.

Smarter Navigation for a More Complex Home

The Roomba Max 875 Combo is also built to navigate the increasingly complex environments found in modern homes. ClearView™ Pro Dual Line LiDAR creates detailed 3D maps of the home, allowing the robot to understand its surroundings and plan cleaning routes.

Working alongside the mapping system is PrecisionVision™ AI Technology, which recognizes and avoids more than 300 common household objects. This helps the robot navigate around obstacles rather than becoming dependent on a completely clear floor before it can begin cleaning.

The robot can climb thresholds of up to 3.5 cm, while its ultra-slim design allows it to reach underneath furniture and into areas that can be difficult to access with traditional cleaning equipment.

Cleaning That Adapts to the Home

The Roomba Max 875 Combo also brings personalization into the cleaning experience through the Roomba® Home App. Rather than treating every room and every cleaning session the same way, the app learns the home’s layout and cleaning patterns to help create customized routines.

Users can schedule cleaning sessions, target areas where pets spend the most time and use voice control⁶ to manage cleaning. The goal is to allow the robot to handle routine floor care in the background while requiring less day-to-day intervention from the homeowner.

A More Complete Approach to Automated Floor Care

With the Roomba® Max 875 Combo, the focus is not simply on making a robot vacuum more powerful. The system brings together deep carpet cleaning, heated-water mopping, edge cleaning, carpet protection, obstacle avoidance and automated maintenance into one integrated platform.

From dried-on kitchen spills and embedded carpet dirt to pet hair and dust collecting along walls, the Roomba Max 875 Combo is designed to address a broad range of everyday cleaning challenges. Combined with the AutoWash™ Dock’s ability to wash, dry, empty and refill the robot, the system aims to bring the concept of truly hands-free floor care closer to reality.

For households looking for a robot that can do more than simply vacuum while requiring minimal maintenance in return, the Roomba® Max 875 Combo robot + AutoWash™ dock offers a comprehensive approach to automated cleaning—combining pro-level cleaning technologies with the intelligence and convenience of a connected home appliance.
