Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 Review: Powerful Cleaning, Smart Automation & Incredible Value

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is the 19th Dreame robot vacuum we’ve tested, and with more than 130 robot vacuums reviewed overall, Dreame continues to earn its place as one of our favorite brands. The company has built a reputation for delivering strong cleaning performance, thoughtful automation, and competitive pricing, and we were eager to see how the L10s Ultra Gen 2 stacks up in an increasingly crowded market.

Before diving in, it’s worth noting that this review is not sponsored. While Dreame provided the unit for testing, all opinions are our own and based on real-world use and standardized testing.

Unboxing and Setup Experience

Out of the box, the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 feels like a complete, ready-to-go package. Dreame includes everything needed to get started, including the robot, the all-in-one cleaning station, mop pads and holders, cleaning solution, replacement dust bags, and the usual maintenance tools and documentation.

Setup is refreshingly simple. After plugging in the dock, attaching the side brush and mop pads, filling the clean water tank, and adding cleaning solution, the robot is ready to charge. Once paired with the Dreame Home app, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 is fully operational within minutes. Mapping is fast, navigation is smooth from the first run, and the entire onboarding process feels well thought out and beginner-friendly.

Design and Build Quality

In terms of design, the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 looks nearly identical to other models in the L10s lineup. Aside from subtle color variations on the lidar housing or dock cover, it follows the same clean, modern aesthetic Dreame is known for. If you’ve used previous L10s models, there are no surprises here—and that’s a good thing.

The overall build quality feels solid, and the dock integrates cleanly into a living space without drawing unnecessary attention.

Vacuuming and Mopping Performance

In daily cleaning, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 performs exactly as expected from a Dreame robot in this category. On hard floors, mopping results were consistently strong, leaving our luxury vinyl plank flooring visibly clean and streak-free. The mop system is fully automated, handling pad washing, solution dispensing, and drying without user intervention, which keeps maintenance to a minimum.

One of the more practical design choices is the extendable mop pad, which allows the robot to clean closer to edges, corners, and furniture legs than many competitors.

The dedicated cleaning solution tank with automatic dispensing is another small but meaningful upgrade that improves consistency and ease of use.

There are some limitations to note. The dock does not use hot water for mop washing, instead relying on room-temperature water, followed by Dreame’s 113°F hot air drying system. While this falls slightly below the category average, it remains respectable for its position in Dreame’s lineup. Mop lift height is average at 10.5 mm, and the pads do not automatically detach and reattach—features reserved for higher-end models.

On the vacuuming side, performance was excellent in a high-traffic, pet-filled environment. The TriCut brush handled hair, crumbs, and fine dust without issue. While we still prefer conical brush rollers for minimizing hair tangles, the TriCut brush is a noticeable improvement over Dreame’s standard all-rubber roller and performs well in real-world use.

Suction Power, Noise, and Carpet Cleaning

With 10,000 Pascals of suction, the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 sits right at the category average on paper, but real-world results tell a more impressive story. In our carpet testing, the robot delivered well above-average performance, scoring 563 FPM in suction testing compared to a 422 FPM category average. In-use airflow on carpet reached 0.52 kPa, again beating the average of 0.40 kPa.

These numbers translated directly into cleaning results. The L10s Ultra Gen 2 earned a perfect 100 out of 100 carpet deep-cleaning score, matching top-performing models like the original L10s Ultra and the L10s Pro Heat. It’s rare to find a robot that balances speed and deep-cleaning power, but this model manages to do both exceptionally well.

Noise levels on maximum suction reach around 80 dB, which is louder than average but consistent with other Dreame models. For everyday cleaning, quieter modes are available and significantly reduce noise without sacrificing too much performance.

Dock Automation and Maintenance

The all-in-one dock is one of the L10s Ultra Gen 2’s strongest features. It automatically empties the dustbin, washes the mop pads, dries them, and manages water and cleaning solution levels, creating a largely hands-free experience. Day-to-day maintenance is minimal, making it easy to forget the robot is even there.

One feature that’s missing is ozone water treatment, which helps prevent odors from developing in dirty water tanks. While not a deal-breaker, it’s a feature we’ve come to appreciate on higher-end models.

Battery Life and Efficiency

Dreame rates the L10s Ultra Gen 2 for up to 240 minutes of runtime under ideal conditions, which is about an hour above average. In real-world testing, battery performance lived up to those claims. On low suction, the robot covered nearly 6,500 square feet before needing to recharge, far exceeding the category average. Even on maximum suction, it cleaned close to 1,000 square feet, still outperforming most competitors.

Cleaning speed on hard floors measured right at the category average, but when combined with its excellent battery life and deep-cleaning ability, the L10s Ultra Gen 2 stands out as both efficient and powerful.

App Experience and Smart Features

The Dreame Home app is one of the best we’ve tested. Available on both iOS and Android, it offers deep customization for vacuuming and mopping, advanced scheduling, room-based and zone-based cleaning, multi-floor mapping, and no-go zones. Voice control through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant is also supported.

While it lacks a built-in voice assistant and live video monitoring—features found on more premium models—the app’s depth more than makes up for it. There is a learning curve due to the sheer number of options, but once familiar, it becomes an incredibly powerful tool. After testing nearly every major platform, this remains our personal favorite, with Roborock earning a close honorable mention.

Obstacle Avoidance and Limitations

The most notable weakness of the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is obstacle avoidance. In our testing, it achieved just a 25% success rate, well below the category average of 62%. Performance was particularly poor on carpet, where the robot failed to avoid any of the test objects placed in its path. On hard floors, results were better, successfully avoiding larger obstacles like a tall poop pile and a large dog bone.

In addition to obstacle avoidance, the robot lacks a few premium features such as an extendable side brush, hot water mop washing, live video monitoring, and automatic mop removal. While these omissions are noticeable, they are consistent with its price point and available on higher-end Dreame models.

Final Thoughts

The Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2 is a powerful, well-rounded robot vacuum that delivers outstanding cleaning performance where it matters most. Its deep carpet cleaning, strong battery life, efficient coverage, and excellent app experience make it one of the best value-oriented robot vacuums in its class.

While obstacle avoidance is its biggest shortcoming and some premium features are missing, the overall package strikes an impressive balance between performance, automation, and price. If your priorities are reliable cleaning, smart automation, and a largely hands-free experience—without paying for every top-tier feature—the L10s Ultra Gen 2 makes a compelling case. For many homes, that balance is exactly what matters most.
