App Features & Functionality
The Dreame app, available on both iOS and Android, offers a feature-rich experience with a clean and intuitive interface. It supports:
- Full, room, or zone cleaning
- Suction power & mop wetness adjustments
- Multi-level mapping (supports up to three maps)
- No-go zones, no-mop zones, and virtual walls
- Real-time accessory usage tracking (filters, brushes, etc.)
- Manual remote control via smartphone
- Scheduled cleanings—so you can set it once and forget it
Performance vs. the Competition
With over 100 robot vacuums tested, we’re comparing the D10 Gen 2 to our baseline average.
- Price: At less than half the price of an average robot vacuum, does it deliver half the performance? Let’s see.
- Suction Power: Only 1,300 Pa below average, which is respectable.
- Airflow (CFM): Actually 2 points above average in our in-house testing.
- Carpet Deep Clean Test: Scored 90/100, beating the average—but ironically, it underperformed compared to the original D10.
Noise & Battery Life
- Max Noise Level: 79 dB—technically louder than average but not significantly noticeable.
- Battery Life: Advertised at 285 minutes, but with the same battery capacity as the original D10 and increased suction power, we’re curious how Dreame tested this. Real-world performance will depend on your suction settings, but it has more than enough power to clean most homes in one go.
Self-Emptying & Mopping
- Self-Emptying Bin: Holds up to 90 days of debris—a great convenience.
- Internal Dustbin: A 400ml capacity, surprisingly large for a vacuum with self-emptying.
- Mopping Performance: Basic but better than nothing—it’s similar to wiping your floors with a damp cloth.
- Water Tank: Slightly below average in size, so on the wettest setting, expect to refill it every 2–3 cleans, depending on home size.
What’s Missing?
For its price and Dreame’s lineup position, not much. Few robot vacuums at this price point offer:
✅ Vacuuming & mopping
✅ Self-emptying station
✅ Lidar navigation
✅ Multi-level mapping, zone cleaning, & station controls
Areas for Improvement
- Obstacle Avoidance: While it slows down when detecting larger objects (like a leg or camera), smaller objects get the bump-and-run treatment rather than true avoidance.
- Roller Brush Design: Hair tangles tend to build up at the sides. Dreame’s TriCut brush or the cylindrical roller from the X50 Ultra would be great upgrades for future models.
Final Thoughts
For its price, the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 packs an impressive set of features and strong real-world performance. While it has room for refinements, especially in obstacle avoidance and brush design, it remains a compelling option for budget-conscious buyers looking for premium features.
