3i G10+ Robot Vacuum Review: 18,000 Pa Suction, Smart Mapping & Compact Dust Compression System Tested

Earlier this year at CES, the 3i G10+ immediately caught our attention, so we were excited to finally get it into the studio and compare it against the 100+ robot vacuums we’ve tested so far. Huge thanks to 3i for sending this unit over for review. As always, this is not a sponsored review, and all opinions are based entirely on our own testing and real-world experience.

At first glance, the 3i G10+ positions itself as a feature-packed yet affordable robot vacuum with a focus on compact design, strong suction power, and practical smart features. After spending time testing it across multiple scenarios, it’s clear that 3i has made meaningful improvements over some of its earlier models.

Unboxing and Setup

Inside the box, you’ll find the robot vacuum, charging station with an integrated power cord, a pre-installed mop pad, a multi-purpose cleaning tool, and the standard product documentation.

Getting started is refreshingly simple. After plugging in the dock and filling the clean water tank, the robot only needs a quick charge before pairing with the 3i app, available on both iOS and Android. The setup process was smooth, and mapping the home took very little time.

From the beginning, navigation felt responsive and reliable, with the robot moving confidently around obstacles and furniture.

Improved Obstacle Avoidance

One of the biggest surprises during testing was the obstacle avoidance performance. Compared to the company’s earlier flagship, the 3i S10 Ultra, the G10+ feels significantly more refined. It appears that 3i has improved its system considerably through OTA software updates, and the difference is noticeable.

The robot also includes live video monitoring and AI-powered object recognition with photo mapping. While these features are welcome additions at this price point, the onboard camera quality leaves room for improvement. Images captured through the app are fairly blurry, which limits the usefulness of the object recognition system in real-world use.

Even so, navigation overall was dependable and efficient throughout our testing.

Unique Mop Design That Actually Reaches Edges

One feature that immediately stood out was the mop system. The 3i G10+ uses a uniquely designed mop pad that extends outward to clean along edges and baseboards. We’ve seen similar designs before, but most are fixed in place. This is one of the first extendable flat-pad systems we’ve tested that genuinely improves edge coverage.

Typically, this type of edge-cleaning functionality is reserved for more expensive dual spinning or roller-based mop systems, so it’s great to see it included here.

For everyday hard floor maintenance, the results were impressive. Our LVP flooring looked consistently clean after vacuuming and mopping sessions.

Vacuuming Performance

The 3i G10+ boasts an impressive 18,000Pa suction rating, which is more than double the average across the category. Normally, that level of suction comes with significantly higher noise levels, but surprisingly, the robot was only slightly louder than average during operation.

In actual day-to-day use, the noise difference was barely noticeable.

Performance in our pet hair testing was also solid. The G10+ handled hair, crumbs, and fine debris effectively, even in high-traffic pet areas. While we did experience some tangling around the main brush roller, the built-in comb system performed better than expected.

That said, many premium robot vacuums now use conical or split brush rollers specifically to reduce hair tangles. Since the G10+ lacks those designs, it’s naturally a bit more prone to buildup. This feels like a deliberate compromise to help keep the overall price lower.

Real-World Cleaning Results

Despite the massive advertised suction numbers, real-world cleaning performance ended up being more average than exceptional.

In our carpet suction testing, the G10+ achieved 370 FPM, below the category average of 420 FPM. Airflow testing showed a similar trend, peaking at around 2 kPa, also below average. We suspect the brush roller design may not channel airflow as efficiently as some rubber roller systems, though that remains speculative.

In our overall cleaning tests, the 3i G10+ scored 85 out of 100, compared to the current category average of 87. That still places it comfortably within the range of solid everyday performers, even if it doesn’t lead the pack.

Mopping System and Maintenance

The mopping system is fairly straightforward and designed more for maintenance cleaning than deep scrubbing.

While it performs adequately for routine floor care, it doesn’t match the performance of premium roller-style or dual spinning mop systems. Occasional streaking can occur, and the mop lift height is fairly average.

Unlike some higher-end competitors, the G10+ does not automatically detach or auto-wash its mop pad. Users will need to manually remove and clean the pad themselves. Likewise, the clean water tank requires manual refilling after several cleaning sessions.

Still, for users primarily looking for light daily mopping, the system gets the job done reasonably well.

Compact Dust Compression System

One of the most innovative features of the 3i G10+ is its internal dust compression system.

Instead of relying on a bulky self-empty station, the robot compresses debris internally, significantly reducing how often the dustbin needs to be emptied. This allows the dock to remain extremely compact compared to many modern auto-empty systems.

For apartments or homes with limited space, this smaller footprint is a major advantage.

3i also includes a built-in UV sanitation light inside the dustbin, which is a thoughtful addition rarely seen in this price range.

App Features and Smart Controls

The 3i app offers a surprisingly robust feature set for a vacuum in this category. Users can customize vacuuming and mopping settings, create no-go zones, manage multi-floor maps, and target specific rooms or cleaning zones.

Carpet settings are especially flexible. You can instruct the robot to avoid carpets during mopping, prioritize carpet cleaning first, ignore carpets entirely, or enable automatic carpet boost.

Additional smart features include AI object recognition, off-peak charging schedules, and voice assistant support through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Overall, the app experience feels polished and gives users a high level of control over how the robot operates.

User Feedback So Far

Since the 3i G10+ is still relatively new, long-term user feedback is limited, though early impressions have been largely positive.

Many users are praising the powerful suction, smooth navigation, compact dock design, and effective handling of pet hair and daily debris. The extendable mop pad has also received attention for its ability to clean closer to walls and edges.

On the downside, some users noted that mopping performance can feel average at times, particularly when compared to more premium systems. Others mentioned occasional hair tangles around the brush roller and the limited usefulness of the low-resolution camera.

Even so, most early feedback suggests the G10+ offers strong overall value for the price.

Areas That Still Need Improvement

While the G10+ gets many things right, there are still a few areas where refinement would help.

The dock placement requirements are somewhat restrictive, as the station works best on hard flooring or very low-pile carpet. During testing on medium-pile carpet, the robot occasionally struggled to dock properly because the bumper contacted the station incorrectly.

The lack of a conical brush design also increases the likelihood of hair tangling over time. Additionally, the low camera resolution limits the effectiveness of both live monitoring and AI object recognition.

None of these are dealbreakers, but they are worth considering depending on your priorities.

Final Thoughts

The 3i G10+ delivers a compelling mix of smart features, powerful suction, compact design, and thoughtful innovations at what appears to be a competitive price point.

Its dust compression system is genuinely useful for smaller homes, the extendable mop pad improves edge cleaning, and the app experience is impressively feature-rich. Navigation and obstacle avoidance have also improved significantly compared to previous 3i models.

While the vacuum doesn’t necessarily outperform category leaders in raw cleaning performance or mopping capability, it remains a strong all-around option for everyday maintenance cleaning.
