When comparing the Mova P10 Pro Ultra and the Mova P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2, the differences are more nuanced than you might expect. Both robots use LDS navigation and a single-line laser for obstacle avoidance, but the original model also includes RGB AI with a built-in camera, which the Gen 2 completely removes. That means no visual object recognition and no live video monitoring on the newer model, along with the loss of the front LED light. In everyday navigation both perform similarly in open spaces, but the original has the advantage in identifying smaller objects and delivering that added smart-home monitoring capability. Interestingly, at similar pricing, this makes the decision less about “newer is better” and more about which features matter most to you.
Where the Gen 2 clearly pulls ahead is raw cleaning performance and dock refinement. Suction doubles from 13,000Pa on the original to 26,000Pa on Gen 2, translating to stronger deep carpet pickup and roughly 10 percent better performance in our heavy debris testing. Mopping also sees meaningful gains, jumping from 180 RPM and 8N of pressure to 260 RPM and 12N, along with hotter mop washing and upgraded washboard design in the dock. Hair handling improves as well thanks to updates around the omnidirectional wheel, though both models use the same rubber main brush with an optional TriCut upgrade. In short, the original model retains smarter vision-based features, while Gen 2 focuses on stronger suction, more aggressive scrubbing, and a more performance-driven cleaning experience overall.
