Unboxing and First Impressions
The packaging of the eufy L60 is clean and professional. The box highlights the vacuum’s key features, such as its hair-detangling technology, 5,000 Pa of suction, and the ability to operate hands-free for up to 60 days thanks to its self-emptying base. Inside the box, everything is neatly organized. You’ll find the eufy L60 itself, the two-piece self-empty base, product literature with QR codes for the manual and app, a pre-installed vacuum bag, and a small multi-purpose cleaning tool stored inside the base.
The design and build quality of the vacuum stand out immediately. The top of the L60 features subtle branding on a glossy black finish, with clearly labeled power and home buttons. The navigation bumper and front-facing sensors are unobtrusive, while the rear self-empty port, charging contacts, and side vents are neatly integrated. Accessing the dust bin and filter is straightforward, and the multi-layer filter system can be easily removed, washed, and replaced.
Flipping the vacuum over reveals multiple cliff sensors, a side cleaning brush, spring-loaded drive wheels, and a removable main brush roller with a combination of bristles and rubber agitators. The front omnidirectional wheel is fully accessible, and overall, the vacuum is designed for easy maintenance.
The Self-Empty Base
The L60’s self-empty base is compact but thoughtfully designed. The ramp portion includes a removable drawer that collects hair from the brush roller. This drawer is designed for simple cleaning every few months. The main base unit stores the cleaning tool, houses a large-capacity vacuum bag, and provides clear instructions for bag replacement. Charging contacts and a self-empty channel are built in, and the entire system has a small footprint while still offering practical storage and functionality. Setting up the base is as simple as snapping the ramp in place, plugging it in, and docking the vacuum.
Performance and Real-World Cleaning
After the first cleaning run, the dust bin showed that the eufy L60 effectively captured a mix of pet hair, long human hair, fine dust, and larger debris, such as crumbs. The filter collected a significant amount of fine dust, demonstrating the vacuum’s strong filtration capability.
The L60’s brush roller is where the vacuum’s unique hair-detangling technology comes into play. The system is designed to automatically remove hair from the brush via the base. In practice, however, performance was underwhelming. After multiple runs of the detangling feature, tightly wound hair remained on the roller. While this did prevent further buildup over time, it did not remove hair as effectively as we had hoped. The concept is innovative, but real-world results in a household with multiple humans and a pet dog were disappointing.
App Experience
The eufy Clean app complements the L60 with a highly detailed and intuitive interface. It provides a live LiDAR-generated map and supports auto, room-by-room, and zone cleaning modes. Users can set no-go zones and virtual walls, merge or split rooms, and customize the cleaning sequence. The app also allows adjustments to suction levels, toggling BoostIQ, and per-room cleaning preferences.
Additional app features include manual self-emptying and brush-clean commands, multi-map support for multi-level homes, scheduling, cleaning history, and base station emptying frequency settings. You can also activate child lock, Do Not Disturb mode, and auto-return, and manage firmware updates or troubleshooting. Overall, the app gives users full control over the vacuum with a smooth, modern interface.
Technical Performance
In terms of suction, the eufy L60 performs slightly above the average within eufy’s product lineup but just below the overall market average. Airflow (measured in CFM) is below both the eufy and industry averages. However, the carpet deep clean test, which measures real-world performance rather than specs alone, showed the L60 exceeded expectations, outperforming eufy’s average by nine points and the overall robot vacuum average by three points.
The L60 operates at around 5–6 decibels louder than typical vacuums on maximum suction, but this difference is negligible in everyday use. Battery life is rated at 120 minutes, slightly below eufy’s average and well below the industry standard, but the vacuum supports recharge-and-resume functionality. This makes it suitable for larger homes if you’re willing to allow it to recharge during cleaning. The L60 is 4.1 inches tall, which is typical for LiDAR-equipped vacuums, and the dust bin has a 350 ml capacity—smaller than average for a vacuum but sufficient for a self-emptying model.
Value and Pricing
What makes the eufy L60 particularly appealing is its value. Despite costing significantly less than many competing robot vacuums, it includes LiDAR navigation, a self-empty base, and even the unique hair-detangling technology. It performs near the average of more expensive models, offering features typically reserved for premium units, making it a solid option for budget-conscious buyers.
Final Thoughts
The eufy L60 robot vacuum is a competent and affordable option for anyone looking for advanced cleaning technology without paying a premium. Its strengths include accurate LiDAR navigation, a compact yet high-capacity self-empty base, strong carpet cleaning performance, and a well-designed app.
The areas for improvement are mainly battery life, which may not be ideal for larger homes needing one-pass cleaning, and the hair-detangling feature, which didn’t meet expectations in our testing. That said, the vacuum still prevents excessive hair buildup over time, which is better than traditional brushes.
