Dyson is expanding its floor-care lineup with a new family of robot vacuums, introducing three Nurovi models designed to cover different levels of cleaning performance. Leading the range is the Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV, a flagship robot vacuum and mop that combines AI vision with ultraviolet light to detect stains and automatically focus on areas that need extra cleaning.
The new lineup also includes the R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry, which offers both vacuuming and mopping at a lower tier, and the R1 Nurovi Dry, which focuses exclusively on dry vacuuming. Dyson is also updating its slim wet floor cleaner with the new W1 PencilWash + Dok.
Dyson R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV Leads the New Range
The R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV is the most advanced model in Dyson’s new robot vacuum lineup. Its standout feature is an AI-powered stain detection system that combines ultraviolet light, vision technology and green illumination to identify nearly 200 types of household substances and objects.
When the robot detects a stain, it can repeatedly clean the area until the stain is removed. Dyson notes that cleaning results can vary depending on the type and severity of the stain.
For mopping, the R3 uses a full-width microfiber roller supplied by a 12-point hydration system. The water is heated to 158°F, while the roller continuously cleans itself as it rotates. The roller can also extend approximately 40 mm (1.6 inches) to get closer to walls and room edges.
Dyson rates the R3 at 30,000 Pa of suction pressure. It also retains Dyson’s distinctive cyclonic, bagless dock, which automatically empties the robot and handles cleaning and recharging after a cleaning cycle.
The R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV is scheduled to become available in the U.S. on September 15, 2026.
R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry Takes a Different Approach to Mopping
The Dyson R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry brings vacuuming and mopping to a more affordable tier of the lineup. Rather than using conventional round mop pads, the R2 uses Reuleaux triangle-shaped pads that maintain a constant width as they rotate.
Dyson says their controlled eccentric movement creates a more square-shaped cleaning path and helps the robot reach farther into corners. Its dock can heat water to 167°F to assist with stain removal.
The R2 also introduces Dyson’s Twin-capture system. Bristles direct larger debris toward the robot’s intake while the vacuum motor concentrates on fine dust and smaller particles. An acoustic piezo sensor monitors dust levels and floor types, allowing the robot to automatically adjust its cleaning behavior when operating in Auto mode.
The R2 is scheduled to launch September 3, 2026, exclusively at Costco.
R1 Nurovi Dry Focuses on Vacuuming
At the entry level of the new lineup, the Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry removes the mopping system and focuses entirely on vacuuming hard floors and carpets.
The R1 uses the same Twin-capture technology as the R2 and is rated at 21,000 Pa of suction pressure. Dyson has also redesigned its side sweepers, angling them to direct debris toward the airflow path while extending outward to improve cleaning along walls and in corners.
The flexible sweeper design is also intended to help reduce scattered debris and hair tangling. Dyson expects the R1 Nurovi Dry to launch later in September 2026.
Dyson Updates the W1 PencilWash
Alongside the new robot vacuums, Dyson is introducing the W1 PencilWash + Dok, an updated version of the slim wet floor cleaner first introduced earlier in 2026.
The new model has been redesigned with a more absorbent roller and an updated waste-management system aimed at improving cleaning and hygiene. Dyson has also added self-cleaning technology to the dock, while retaining the lightweight and slim design that defines the PencilWash series.
A Broader Robot Vacuum Strategy for Dyson
With the Nurovi family, Dyson is taking a more structured approach to the robot vacuum market. Instead of offering a single flagship-style product, the company now has three models aimed at different cleaning needs.
The R3 Nurovi Spot+Scrub UV sits at the top with advanced stain detection and heated-water roller mopping, while the R2 Nurovi Wash+Dry combines vacuuming and mopping using a different mop-pad design. The R1 Nurovi Dry rounds out the range for shoppers primarily interested in traditional vacuuming.
Together with the updated PencilWash, the new products show Dyson continuing to expand beyond traditional cordless vacuums and into more automated floor-care technology.
