BERLIN — September 4, 2026 — ECOVACS has introduced its latest flagship robot vacuum and mop, the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone, at IFA 2026, combining deeper carpet cleaning, increased suction power, continuously self-washing mopping technology, faster charging and a new physical privacy feature designed to give users greater control over the robot’s camera.
Positioned as a whole-home cleaning system, the X12S is designed to go beyond everyday dust and debris. Its sealed dust-mite carpet chamber is engineered to push deeper into carpet pile rather than simply traveling across the surface. According to SGS-certified testing, the robot removed an average of 97.44% of dust mite allergens and 95.45% of dust mites from carpet.

“A dust mite allergy isn’t something you just get over. You clean around it,” said Michelle Jones, associate brand marketing director at ECOVACS Americas. “Most robots skim the top of a carpet. We built the X12S to get down to where the dust actually sits.”
Designed to Reach Deeper Into Carpet
Carpets can trap dust, dust mites and allergens deep within their fibers, making them difficult to reach with conventional surface-level cleaning. The X12S addresses this with a dedicated sealed chamber designed to penetrate further into the carpet pile.
In testing conducted by SGS Testing & Control Services Singapore in July 2026, the X12S was evaluated in Ultra Strong Suction mode across three runs on Wilton carpet. The results showed an average removal rate of 97.44% for dust mite allergen Der f 1 and 95.45% for Dermatophagoides farinae dust mites. ECOVACS says carpet dust removal efficiency improves by 224% compared with previous models.
The robot also increases effective suction to 53 air watts, representing a 60% increase over the previous-generation X12. A retuned fan and airway are designed to improve dust pickup without adding additional noise.
A Physical Privacy Shield for the Camera
As household robots become increasingly capable of seeing and mapping their surroundings, privacy has become another consideration for consumers. The X12S introduces a hardware-based approach with its Privacy Shield, which physically covers the robot’s AIVI camera when closed.
Unlike software-only privacy controls, the physical cover provides a visible barrier between the camera and the home.
“A cover you can see is easier to trust, because you can look at it,” Jones said. “As these robots take in more of the home, people will want to ensure they have their privacy.”
OZMO Roller 3.0 Brings Continuous Self-Washing Mopping
The X12S also introduces the OZMO Roller 3.0, a continuously self-washing roller mop designed to keep cleaning with a fresh surface.

Rather than dragging a flat mop or relying on rotating pads that gradually become saturated with dirt, the system continuously feeds fresh water onto the roller while a scraper removes dirty water and debris. This allows the roller to wash itself while it cleans the floor.
The OZMO Roller 3.0 also features FocusJet stain spray, which ECOVACS describes as an industry-first technology designed to target embedded and dried-on stains.
A More Hands-Off Cleaning Station
The X12S extends its automation to the OMNI Station, reducing the amount of manual maintenance required after cleaning.
Following each mop-washing cycle, the station pressure-washes the OZMO Roller 3.0 using a 40 kPa high-pressure pump and cleans the mop tray using a 26 kPa high-pressure air pump, helping remove accumulated debris and sediment.
The robot’s dirty-water tank is also cleaned by an internal propeller spinning at up to 6,000 rpm. The station hot-air dries the robot’s air duct and dustbin after cleaning cycles, helping reduce the damp conditions associated with odor and buildup.
The OMNI Station automatically refills the robot’s clean-water tank with hot water and dispenses cleaning solution, eliminating the need to manually measure detergent. ECOVACS says users can go up to 48 days without emptying the dustbin, while the mop tray requires maintenance approximately every 150 days.

A bagless PureCyclone auto-empty system is designed to maintain consistent suction while reducing reliance on disposable consumables.
“A robot that cleans your floors but requires you to clean the station all of the time hasn’t saved you much,” Jones said. “Like we say, ‘Clean floors. Cleans itself.’ We mean both halves of that.”
PowerBoost Charging Keeps Cleaning Moving
The DEEBOT X12S comes with PowerBoost Charging Plus, a fast-charging system that replenishes the robot’s battery during short mop-washing cycles at the station.
The approach is designed to minimize downtime by allowing the X12S to take advantage of time spent at the dock before returning to cleaning.
Intelligent Navigation and Edge Cleaning
The X12S carries forward several technologies from the X12 while adding the new cleaning and automation features.
Its 15 mm automatic mop lifting and Mop Roller Smart Cover help keep the mop clear when transitioning onto carpet. Meanwhile, AIVI 3D 4.0 combines camera-based vision with 3D laser sensing to identify and navigate around obstacles in cluttered rooms.
For cleaning along walls and baseboards, TruEdge 3.0 uses a 3D edge sensor to help the robot clean closer to boundaries while minimizing gaps.

Voice control is handled by AGENT YIKO 3.0, which allows users to set cleaning preferences through natural voice commands. The assistant can distinguish between one-time instructions and preferences that should be remembered for future cleaning sessions.
