Dreame L60 Pro Ultra Review: Flagship Robot Vacuum Performance at a Better Value

The Dreame L60 Pro Ultra is the latest premium robot vacuum to join Dreame’s growing lineup, and after testing more than 145 robot vacuums—including 23 models from Dreame—it’s clear the company continues to refine one of the strongest ecosystems in the industry. While the L-series has traditionally served as a more affordable alternative to Dreame’s flagship X-series, the L60 Pro Ultra blurs that distinction by incorporating many of the company’s best technologies into a package that feels remarkably premium.

From its powerful vacuuming performance and intelligent navigation to one of the most advanced mopping systems currently available, the L60 Pro Ultra delivers an impressive blend of innovation and everyday usability. Although a few features still feel like first-generation technology, this is easily one of the most capable robot vacuums we’ve tested.

Setup and First Impressions

Getting started with the L60 Pro Ultra is refreshingly simple. Everything needed for setup is included in the box, including the multi-function dock, magnetic mop pads, cleaning solution, and a spare dust bag. After filling the clean water tank, attaching the mop pads, and connecting the robot through the Dreame Home app, the initial mapping process took only a few minutes. Navigation was smooth from the very first cleaning run, with the robot creating an accurate floor plan and confidently moving throughout the home.

At first glance, the robot itself will look familiar to anyone who has followed Dreame’s recent releases. It closely resembles models like the X15 and X16, borrowing the design language of those premium models while inheriting several core technologies from the flagship X60. That strategy has become a hallmark of Dreame’s L-series—bringing flagship performance to a lower price point by trimming a handful of premium extras rather than compromising the core cleaning experience.

Excellent Vacuuming Performance

Vacuuming has long been one of Dreame’s strengths, and the L60 Pro Ultra continues that tradition. In a high-traffic home with pets, it handled hair, crumbs, dirt, and fine dust without hesitation. Dreame’s Detangling Duo roller brush remains one of the better anti-hair-wrap designs we’ve tested, while the extendable side brush does an excellent job reaching along walls, corners, and furniture edges that many robot vacuums tend to miss.

On paper, the L60 Pro Ultra boasts an impressive 35,000 Pa of suction, tying the Dreame X60 for the highest advertised suction in the company’s lineup and currently representing the highest suction specification we’ve recorded across our entire robot vacuum database. As we’ve said many times, however, suction ratings alone rarely tell the complete story. Airflow, brush design, and overall cleaning mechanics are equally important when it comes to real-world performance.

Fortunately, our testing showed that the L60 Pro Ultra backs up its specifications with excellent cleaning results. Airflow measured 579 FPM, significantly above the category average of 428 FPM, while operating pressure landed almost exactly at the category average. Interestingly, previous Dreame models using this style of roller brush have generally produced lower pressure readings, making the L60 Pro Ultra the strongest performer we’ve tested with this particular brush design.

Those numbers translated well into our standardized carpet testing. The robot removed 90% of coffee grounds, 60% of embedded sand, and 95% of cat litter, producing above-average results in nearly every category. The especially strong performance on fine debris demonstrates that the cleaning system is well-balanced rather than relying solely on impressive suction specifications.

A Sophisticated Mopping System

Where the L60 Pro Ultra truly separates itself from much of the competition is its mopping system. Like other premium Dreame models, the dock automates nearly every maintenance task, including washing the mop pads, dispensing cleaning solution, drying the pads with heated air, and emptying the dustbin. Day-to-day ownership requires remarkably little intervention beyond occasionally refilling the clean water tank and emptying the dirty water reservoir.

One of Dreame’s newest innovations is its heated mopping system. The dock washes the mop pads at temperatures approaching 212°F before drying them with hot air around 113°F. Dreame also advertises that the specially designed mop pads retain heat after leaving the station, helping loosen grease and stubborn messes during the initial stages of cleaning.

In practice, however, expectations should remain realistic. According to Dreame’s own documentation, pad temperatures drop to approximately 86–104°F within about one minute before continuing to cool. Rather than continuously mopping with heated pads, the system delivers a brief burst of elevated temperature immediately after leaving the dock. It’s a clever concept that points toward the future of robotic floor cleaning, but it still feels like an early implementation with plenty of room to mature.

The real standout feature is the robot’s ability to completely remove its mop pads before vacuuming carpet. Instead of simply lifting the pads higher off the floor, the L60 Pro Ultra detaches them entirely at the docking station, eliminating the common issue of dragging damp mop pads across rugs. Combined with extendable mop pads for improved edge cleaning, this creates one of the most refined mopping systems available today.

Navigation and Obstacle Avoidance

Navigation continues to be one of Dreame’s greatest strengths. Throughout testing, the L60 Pro Ultra moved confidently through complex floor plans, navigated tight spaces, and climbed thresholds that would stop many competing robot vacuums. Its Pro-Lift chassis allows it to overcome obstacles up to 45 mm, while larger threshold-climbing capabilities further improve whole-home coverage.

Obstacle avoidance also performed well. Using our standardized testing course, the L60 Pro Ultra achieved an overall score of 79%, placing it comfortably above the category average. Most importantly, it successfully avoided our simulated pet waste, one of the most critical objects for any modern robot vacuum to recognize. Like many competitors, USB cables remain its biggest weakness, but overall obstacle avoidance performance ranks among the better systems we’ve tested.

Battery Life

Dreame rates the L60 Pro Ultra for up to 220 minutes of runtime using its 6,400 mAh battery. As always, we tested the robot at both minimum and maximum suction settings to better reflect real-world performance.

At lower suction levels, battery efficiency was excellent, with enough runtime to theoretically cover nearly 3,950 square feet, placing it comfortably above the category average. Running at maximum power naturally reduced coverage significantly to just over 500 square feet, largely because the robot required additional time to complete its cleaning cycle. Overall, the battery behaves much like most flagship robot vacuums: excellent endurance during normal cleaning and noticeably reduced efficiency when maximum performance is prioritized.

One of the Best Robot Vacuum Apps Available

The Dreame Home app continues to be one of the company’s biggest competitive advantages. It offers an enormous amount of customization, allowing users to adjust vacuuming and mopping behavior, create room-specific cleaning routines, establish no-go zones, manage multiple floor maps, schedule off-peak charging, monitor maintenance intervals, and even access live video monitoring.

There is certainly a learning curve simply because the app offers so many options, but that depth ultimately becomes one of its greatest strengths. After using nearly every major robot vacuum platform available today, the Dreame Home app remains my personal favorite thanks to its combination of flexibility, thoughtful design, and consistently reliable performance.

Areas for Improvement

As impressive as the L60 Pro Ultra is, there are still areas where it could improve. The heated mopping system is an exciting idea, but its real-world benefits are somewhat limited by how quickly the mop pads cool after leaving the dock. Additional water treatment technologies, such as silver-ion modules, ozone treatment, or electrolyzed water systems, would also help reduce odors in the dirty water tank during extended periods between cleanings.

Battery performance at maximum suction trails some competitors, and while the retail price places the L60 Pro Ultra firmly in flagship territory, Dreame’s frequent promotions often make it considerably more attractive from a value standpoint.

Final Verdict

The Dreame L60 Pro Ultra feels like the natural evolution of Dreame’s strategy of bringing flagship technology to a broader audience. It combines outstanding vacuuming performance with intelligent navigation, one of the most hands-free docking systems available, excellent edge cleaning, and a genuinely innovative automatic mop removal system that solves one of the biggest shortcomings of combination robot vacuums.

Although the heated mopping system still feels like an early glimpse of where the technology is heading rather than its final destination, it doesn’t overshadow what is otherwise an exceptional cleaning package. Combined with one of the best companion apps in the industry and consistently strong real-world performance across our testing, the L60 Pro Ultra earns its place among the very best flagship robot vacuums currently available.

If you’re looking for a premium robot vacuum that requires very little day-to-day maintenance and can take advantage of Dreame’s frequent sale pricing, the L60 Pro Ultra is one of the easiest recommendations in its class.
