Unboxing and Setup

Unboxing the ReactiSense 440 is refreshingly straightforward. Inside the box, you’ll find the vacuum head, main body tube, a removable battery, three cleaning attachments, a wall mount with hardware, a charger, and quick-start guides. Assembly takes just a few minutes—everything snaps together easily, and once the battery is charged, the vacuum is ready to go. There’s no complicated setup process, which makes it approachable even for first-time cordless vacuum users.

Design and First Impressions

Right out of the box, the ReactiSense 440 makes a strong first impression thanks to two features we consider essential in a modern cordless vacuum: a removable battery and a built-in LED headlight. The swappable battery allows you to extend cleaning sessions by keeping a spare on hand, rather than waiting for a recharge. Meanwhile, the LED headlight does an excellent job of illuminating dust and debris, especially in low-light areas, helping ensure nothing gets left behind.

The vacuum’s display is clean and easy to read, and the controls are intuitive. In hand, it feels well balanced with a comfortable grip that doesn’t become tiring during longer cleaning sessions. One downside is that the vacuum does not stand upright on its own. However, Eureka has designed it so it can lean securely against furniture or countertops, which helps reduce the inconvenience.

Performance and Testing

On paper, the Eureka ReactiSense 440 delivers strong performance numbers. It’s rated at 350 watts, which is slightly above average for cordless vacuums in this category. Battery life is also impressive, offering up to 60 minutes of runtime under ideal conditions—about seven minutes longer than the average cordless model we’ve tested. Of course, real-world runtime will vary depending on suction settings and the type of flooring being cleaned.

Peak suction measured at 28 kPa, exceeding both the category average and Eureka’s own stated claims. Noise levels topped out at 84 decibels on maximum suction, which is technically quieter than average, though the difference isn’t particularly noticeable during normal use.

Where the numbers become more interesting is at the brush roll and vacuum head. Our airflow and pressure measurements at the roller were lower than average, particularly on carpet. However, these below-average metrics didn’t translate to poor cleaning performance in real-world tests.

Real-World Cleaning Results

Despite the lower brush roll measurements, the ReactiSense 440 performed very well where it matters most. In our carpet deep-cleaning test, it earned a score of 95 out of 100, placing it squarely at the category average. Just as impressive was the anti-tangle brush roll, which handled long hair exceptionally well without wrapping or tangling. For households with pets or long hair, this feature alone can significantly reduce maintenance and cleanup time.

What Users Are Likely to Think

Because the ReactiSense 440 is a brand-new release, there isn’t enough customer feedback yet to fully evaluate long-term satisfaction. Based on Eureka’s previous models, however, we expect it to settle around a solid 4.4-star average rating once more reviews are available.

Most users will likely appreciate how lightweight and easy to maneuver the vacuum feels, along with its strong performance on both hard floors and carpets. Pet owners, in particular, should find the hair pickup effective and hassle-free. Features like intuitive controls and overall ease of use are also likely to be common points of praise. On the flip side, some users may find the vacuum slightly top-heavy or wish it could stand upright without leaning.

Final Thoughts

The Eureka ReactiSense 440 isn’t perfect, but it brings a lot of thoughtful design and strong performance to the table. Smart suction, solid battery life, and a genuinely effective anti-tangle brush roll make it a reliable option for everyday cleaning. While it lacks features like an upright standing design or a fully flat cleaning profile, its real-world performance on carpets and hard floors helps balance out those limitations.

If you’re looking for a cordless vacuum that’s easy to use, pet-friendly, and designed with practical features that matter day to day, the Eureka ReactiSense 440 is definitely worth considering.
